FAR INFRARED SAUNA
The popularity of far infrared saunas is increasing by the day. They are very popular in spas, gyms, and other settings, worldwide. Because of how they work, far infrared saunas offer benefits that are not offered by other traditional saunas.

So, what is far infrared?

The benefits of far infrared saunas come from its heating effects on the body. Far infrared heats the body directly instead of the air around your body. In far-infrared, 80% of the heat is directed to your body, while the remaining 20 percent goes to the air. So, your skin is deeply penetrated by the heat compared to traditional saunas.

Because far infrared doesn’t heat the air around your body, many users find it more tolerable than conventional saunas. It is worth noting that the temperatures from far infrared saunas are much lower than from traditional saunas.

How does it work?

At our facility, we take pride in what we do, and how we do it. Our goal is to ensure that you get the best treatment possible, and we’ve got just the right facilities to do that.

You use the infrared sauna just as you would use the traditional sauna. The major difference is that the temperature from an infrared sauna is not as high as that from the traditional sauna. The temperature from most infrared saunas range from 100˚F to 150˚F. If you are new user, you can start with short sessions (10 – 15 minutes) at a low temperature.

As you get used to and more comfortable with the treatment, you may increase the temperature, time, or number of visits. It is important that you hydrate before an infrared session and after a session. Also, allow your body some time to adjust after using a sauna.

What are the benefits of infrared sauna?

There are many benefits attributed to the usage of infrared saunas.

Extensive clinical researches lend credence to the claims about the health benefits of infrared saunas.

Weight loss: Weight loss is one of the many benefits of infrared saunas. Do you know that an infrared sauna can cause a moderately conditioned person to sweat off 500 grams? A heat-condition individual can sweat off at least 600 kcal without any adverse effects.

Water loss: Infrared saunas contribute to water loss. How? Through sweating. When you sweat, you lose water. So, it is no surprise that many people weigh less after an infrared session.

During an infrared sauna session, an average female may lose 0.5-0.75 pound of body weight in water. On the other hand, the average man may lose 1.0-1.5 pound. People with larger body sizes tend to lose more weight.

Detox: Sweating causes release of heavy metals such as lead, and mercury. Other toxins that are released from the body through sweating include nicotine, alcohol, sulfuric acid, and other inorganic/organic compounds.

Research shows that large amount of cadmium, mercury, lead, and arsenic are seen in sweat therefore sweating contributes to detoxification. Also, it is known that induced sweat facilitates the elimination of Bisphenol A from the body.

Pain relief: A major health benefit of infrared sauna is fast muscle recovery after exercise. Many athletes report reduced inflammation and pain when they go for a sauna session after an intensive exercise.

Blood pressure: Infrared sauna improves circulation. Many users say they feel flushed after using a sauna. Clinical research has shown that infrared sauna is associated with positive effects on systolic hypertension.

Stress relief: Spending time in a quiet environment, away from a cell phone or a computer encourages deep breathing, meditation, and other mindfulness practices. Such restorative processes have scientific backing.

Heart health: Far infrared is associated with reduced weight, stress relief, and decreased blood pressure. So, it follows that it also contributes to good heart health.

Chronic fatigue syndrome: A study involving women with chronic fatigue syndrome found a drastic decrease in pain sensation after treatment with Waon therapy (a thermal therapy that uses far infrared dry sauna).

Type 2 diabetes: Do you know that far infrared sauna is helpful in type 2 diabetes? How? By reducing waist circumference and blood pressure. What’s more? People are more likely to adhere to an infrared sauna plan than they are to adhere to a plan that includes lifestyle changes.
